Text[]
A tragic part in the Skelton family's life begins in the fall. Little Richard was getting tired more and more. It was discovered that Richard had leukemia. This was a shock to Red. He did not want to believe it but had to accept it. He tried to fight it by science to prayer. The family went traveling which included an audience with the Popel and a visit to Disneyland. Red tried to make Richard's last days happy and kept the illness a secret from Richard. The English press printed a story claiming that Red was using Richard's illness for publicity. Richard read this and knew he was dying.
